1. Why don't billed kWh match the battery increase?

During a charge session, losses occur in cable resistance, battery thermal management and station liquid cooling in DC fast charging. Normal DC losses range between 5% and 12%. If losses exceed 18-20%, there may be a MID meter calibration defect or thermal degradation in the charger.

2. Hidden tariff traps: per-minute and blocking fees

Many operators charge idle fees from €0.20/min to €0.50/min after a grace period (typically 5 to 15 minutes after completion). If your car reaches 100% and stays plugged in for 30 minutes, idle fees can double the session cost.

3. Calculating your true effective price

Do not rely solely on the advertised tariff (e.g. 0.45 €/kWh). Your real cost equals total invoice amount divided by usable kWh gained: True Price = Total Billed / Useful Battery kWh.
