Check if the quoted cable thickness complies with the voltage drop regulation (< 5%%).

Measure the actual pipe path, not in a straight line.
Legal Minimum: mm²

We use the physical voltage drop formula required by industry:

S = (2 · L · I) / (C · ΔU)
  • Legal Limit: ΔU < 5%% (ITC-BT-52).
  • Conductivity (C): 44 (Hot copper, worst case for safety).
  • Recommendation: Minimum 6mm² for EV for thermal safety and future expansion, even if the calculation allows less.
Mandatory Checklist

Your electrical panel MUST have these dedicated elements:

  • Surge Protection (COMBI): Protects against voltage peaks (storms). Vital for BYD electronics.
  • Class A RCD: Standard house "AC" is not enough. Must be "Class A" (detects DC leaks).
  • Circuit Breaker (IGA): An exclusive switch to cut the charger's current.
  • Recommended: Reclosing RCD. If the power goes out, it goes back up by itself and the car continues charging.
Horizontal Property Law (Art. 17.5): You don't need the neighbors' board to "approve" the work, you only have an obligation to inform before starting.
